Over the past few years, women at The Fells have gathered during the colder months at the clubhouse on Tuesday afternoons. We started as a “Craft Group,” but since many do not enjoy doing crafts last year we just called it “Open Clubhouse” and we got together to play games, cards, do crafts or just chat. We are kicking off Open Clubhouse on November 13 from 1:00-3:00.
We are going to start this year with a craft that everyone can help in making. We will be producing hanging hand towels that can be hung from a kitchen appliance and used for a quick wipe of the hands, thus saving on paper towels. Here is one pictured here:.
Elaine Francis has enough supplies to produce about 30 of these and we just need folks who are interested in doing an assembly line to get these put together. Once produced, we will sell them at local craft events with proceeds going to local charities. Or, you can purchase one! Tasks include measuring, hand sewing, sewing buttons and machine stitching one seam. If you can do any of these things, or if you enjoy afternoon tea or coffee come join us. We will have some treats to enjoy with the beverages.
At this gathering we will discuss how we want to move forward with our Tuesday afternoon gatherings. If you have any ideas, please share them!
If you plan to attend, please let Elaine know by emailing her at email@example.com. Refreshments will be served.
We hope to see you there!
