It was nice to see new faces at the craft meeting on Feb 24th. A nice time was had by all. Some brought their projects and some just came to visit. What a great thing to do on a wintery day!
We have some interest in learning how to knit. It was decided that the next meeting will be a Learn to Knit day on Tuesday March 17th from 1-3pm. At this meeting basic knitting skills will be taught. If you are interested in learning come along with some yarn and some knitting needles. Let us know if you need to borrow needles and we may be able to help out. This learning meeting will be in preparation for the April 21st meeting when we will be knitting an Infinity Scarf. One to make for yourself or give as a gift. Is it too early to be thinking about the holidays already?Write comment (0 Comments)
Just a reminder that there will be a Pillowcase making day on Sunday April 19th from 1-4:30 at the clubhouse. All pillowcases made will be donated to ConKerr Cancer and they will be going to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital for children ages 10 and up. If you are interested in joining us please respond by Wednesday April 15th to Michelle at 672-2093 or email@example.com.
If you would like to participate and want to purchase your own fabric it should be 100% cotton and have a width of at least 44". Pre-washed and ironed prior to the event. If you can, please bring enough fabric for 2 pillowcases.
Fabric needed for each pillowcase: Since I have not heard back from the contact person I am suggesting: 1 yard of the main fabric for the pillowcase and 1/3 of a yard for the border. (if you have already purchased 3/4 yd that is fine)
If you would like to participate but do not want to purchase your own fabric you can donate to Michelle Ronayne and she will purchase the necessary fabric. Donations by April 15th.
All are welcome to come and participate or to just visit. Hope to see you there.

At our first meeting in January we discovered there is an abundance of talent here at the Fells. From knitting, crocheting, needlework, quilting, and sewing to bead work. Have you ever wanted to make something for your your home or mabe a friend? This might be the place to do it. We discussed possibilities of having some teaching opportunities. We found out that there are many of us who would like to learn how to either knit, crochet, or quilt. We also discussed meeting twice/month perhaps on the 2nd week and the 4th week so if someone needs help it will be available (one day time and one evening).
Some ideas discussed for ways for us to give back were: Caps for Kids, Project Linus, Knitting for our Miliary overseas, The Stork Project, or the 1 Million Pillowcase challenge. Even crafts for local soup kitchens to spruce up their dining area. Lots of good ideas.
Thanks to those who attended. Nice to see some new faces! Great way to meet with neighbors, relax, and socialize.
The next meeting for the Craft Group will be on Tuesday Feb 24th at 1pm at the Clubhouse. Bring your current project or bring just yourself for a visit. All are welcome. Please reply to firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be making a mailing list exclusively for the craft group. If you have not already indicated that you would like to be on this list please let us know.
There will be an initial first meeting of the Fells Craft Group on Wednesday January 28th at 1pm at the Clubhouse. We will see if there is enough interest to have a craft group here at The Fells and potentially discuss ways for us to give back to the community.
Do you have a craft or hobby that you enjoy doing and are willing to share/teach others? Or, is there a craft or hobby that you are interested in learning? Maybe there is someone at The Fells willing to teach you that craft. OR we could all learn something new together!!
Anyone interested in joining us for a meeting is welcome to come. Please reply to email@example.com
If you are interested but unable to attend please let us know and we will keep your name on the mailing list.
